So how do I lose weight eating ice cream every night?
I use the combination of High Protein Milk, coupled with the Ninja Creami Ice Cream Maker to make delicious, high protein, low calorie pints of ice cream!
This is also combined with the 40YR whole life system, which consists of the following concepts:
Flexibility and Sleep
Functional Fitness
Nutrition
Clarity of Mind and Heart
Friendship/Community
High protein milk? What’s that?
Yep, its a real thing. Popularized by the Fairlife brand, high protein milk is extra-filtered during the production process, where all the fat is removed, along with most of the lactose (which is sugar), then certain amounts of fat, sugar, and protein are reintroduced based on the version (skim, 2%, chocolate, etc).
The result is milk with far less fat, almost no lactose (or no lactose if the brand adds special enzymes), less calories, and double the protein content of regular milk!
Ok, now what’s a Ninja Creami?
The Ninja Creami is basically an upside down blender, where you load the frozen pint of ice cream you’ve made in the bottom, and the blender blade descends into the pint, grinding (and warming with friction) the frozen liquid into the consistency of ice cream. You can even mix in toppings later in the process!
What kinds of ice cream?
I typically make a very light vanilla (250cal), a light chocolate (350 cal), a Mint Chip (450 cal), Peanut Butter (600 cal, shared with family), and Strawberry (500 cal, for my daughters).
The possibilities are endless though! Sorbet, slushies, smoothies, milkshakes, it’s easily one of my favorite appliances in the kitchen.
But a pint every night, weirdo?
Different strokes for different folks!
I LOVE ice cream, and having that pint of ice cream hanging around in my head to have at the end of the day helps me make smart choices the rest of the day. If there’s some food or drink tempting me durig the day, I can ask myself “Does this get in the way of my ice cream?” If it does, I make a decision over whether I want that thing to be my “ice cream” for the day. Or, I’ll choose a flavor of ice cream that night to share with the family, so that I’m only having 2-3 scoops, like a normal person probably would!
Ok, I’m intrigued. Where do I start?
They sell the Creami at most stores, and you can check out some of my recipes here:
